This is Where Our Friend Sleeps

Tired Baby Boy
As Most of you might already know I had to take Jackson to the ER Monday night he could not catch his breath. This is the first time I have ever saw him GASP for Air. I had giving him some cough syrup, Motrin rubbed him down good in Vick's Vapor Rub, Turned his Vaporizer on, and sent him to bed because he had been coughing most of the day. I knew he was starting to get a cold so I always try to start treating symptoms early so maybe they don't get to bad sick. At 2am Jackson wakes up Crying this is very rare for him he usually wakes up plays flushes Potty's anything but cry. By the time I get awake enough to get in his room he is standing beside his bed in tears trying to breath, I try to hold him calm him down he screams I try to give him food and Drink he screams so after I sit down turn on the TV (chuggington) to try to calm him and it does not help I talk to Keith and Plan a trip out to the ER. We walk in the door the nurse takes him straight back to a room saying he has pneumonia, so they do test and more test and X rays, Finally after getting admitted to the hospital and staying overnight, getting breathing treatments every 2 hours we get the news. No pneumonia. That's GREAT. Not so Great is that when he was 11 months old he had a severe case of RSV (See post from Feb 18 2009.) His Doctor is now telling us that The Past RSV has had an affect on his Lungs and Airways so anytime he gets just a simple cough runny nose it turns in to so much more because of the problems he has breathing caused by the RSV. This Explains our PAST 4 hospital stays.
So we have been sent home with a Nebulizer and Meds to take twice a day for the next 6-12 months this is supposed to be preventative in case a cold comes along it will not take him down so hard and so fast. After around a year on the Breathing treatments the Doctor wants to test him for ASTHMA (he is not old enough yet) she says he is showing all the signs. So wish us luck with our little penguin friend.
